Dreaming Elephant

I have a gorgeous nephew who when he was born he didn't like to sleep! So I painted him a 'dreaming elephant' to gaze down on him and accompany him in his dreams.

My husband, mature and handsome fellow that he is, was jealous that my nephew had got the painting and not him! So I painted another and decided to share it with the world.

Weeks later in my busy buzzy bee pre-Christmas buzzing I am finally listing him on etsy and posting him here for you all to giggle at.

Here's to sleep my darling nephews and niece! xx

dancing stars

Some stars tumbled out of the sky to dance on the walls of children's bedroom and help them have sweet dreams.

How precious is sleep! My 'little' sister just had twins. They joined my darling nephew at 16 months. She is my hero!

These stars danced into my imagination for them... I loved the way the watercolour paint ran and congealed into dreamy swirly puddles. An excercise in freedom and control - rather like children it seems!

Sending lots of love to those awake in the wee hours attending to little angels.
